Salah Offers Regret to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has shared that Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad after the uproar from his public comments.
The Incident
He was omitted from a European match following voicing frustrations and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has previously declined to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Team Unity
The player stated that the team's response stayed normal. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
Jones also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “It's clear there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
On-Field Response
The team's performance have been impressive in the games following the situation. The player is convinced the outburst were not intended to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, the source has been from a good place,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, playing well and starting to win games.”
